so many layers to love

stomach lurching
mind fizzing
need that softly suckles at your heart like the ravenous mouth of a newborn
certainty that blazes through any circumstances
“i will hold this flame no matter what”
uncertainty of the worrybrain eating life dry
an echo of mother strength and father laugh
the fierce boiling of the heart as the sun blazes through the horizon of this
so imminent you can hardly breathe
the softest gentle nothingness that steals upon your pillow
the whisper of your own breath
there are
so many layers
to love
